́Women Mountain ́ Contemporary Dance Performance by Irene Themistocles and Happy Ndaki (streaming live)

Running from 6 June to 30 June 2025, this curated group exhibition celebrates the creative voices of five remarkable women artists: Rose Mary Exavery, Theresia Massawe, Mary Neema Siwingwa, Ayesha Mawji Patel (all from Tanzania), and Doreen Mueni (Kenya).

On Tuesday, 10 June 2025 at 2:00 PM EAT, Rangi Gallery presents a live-streamed performance of Woman Mountain — a powerful, immersive dance work choreographed by celebrated Tanzanian artist Irene Themistocles, in collaboration with contemporary dancer Happy Ndaki.

On Wednesday, 11 June 2025, All day: Rangi Gallery is proud to welcome acclaimed Tanzanian muralist Hedwiga Medard Tairo for a mural experience that brings the gallery’s mission to life through art.

Aligned with WAAW’s global vision to highlight underrepresentation and foster economic empowerment for women in the arts, this exhibition explores the theme of Visibility, Voice & Shared Identity — at Any Age. Through painting, mixed media, and ceramics, each artist offers a distinct perspective on identity, labor, motherhood, and womanhood — revealing the complex and layered realities of women’s lives in Tanzania and East Africa today.
